I love finding inspirations for creative nontraditional weddings from interiors. Think about how popular Macrame is, and we’re seeing it used creatively for wedding ceremony backdrops and creating hanging plants above tables. This idea for a Macrame Table Plan on Rock My Wedding is genius! My friend Gemma is Caffeine&Cacti on instagram and she created an amazing Macrame backdrop for her destination wedding in Croatia. I love that it’s now on display in her beautiful home! If you don’t feel like making your own, check out her Etsy shop!
Another reason why I like spending a little time capturing special places is that we love to tell the story of your wedding venue on your wedding day too. Little details really help set the scene, not just a single photo of a room. This is why you’ll find us sharing glimpses of places we’ve been. Be it lunch driving through the Cotswolds or a hotel we stayed at on holiday. Finding the beauty in places is an important part of our jobs on a wedding day. You’ll spot plenty of these on our instagram feed.
At Leaf Portland Street I loved the basket pendant lights and these are becoming super popular to use in weddings! Think of clusters of these hung at outdoor weddings or inside cool wedding tipis. This awesome boho styled shoot on Green Wedding Shoes is a great example!
This boho style beaded chandelier is firmly on my wish list for my home, but again – what a cool idea for your wedding decor. I love the idea of getting together with your Bridesmaids and family for beaded chandelier making ahead of your wedding day. Our lovely couple Chloe & Chris did this and created colourful strings of pompom swags to hang from the ceiling of their beautiful barn wedding at Pimhill Barn in Shropshire. You can see it featured on Love My Dress here.
