If you’ve followed my work or press over the last few years you’ll know about this, but the likelihood is that you’re researching your wedding photographer – so let me tell you a little about my behind the scenes work. Whilst James and I work together seamlessly as Catharine Noble Photography, I have worked independently on commercial shoots with some incredible brands and people within the wedding industry. I’ve also featured for the past two years creating beautiful wedding concepts and moodboards for BLOVED blog.
Yes, James and I create our own editorial shoots for fun throughout the year – completely created and styled by ourselves – and the putting together of editorial shoots has really become something I love to do, and we have expanded this too!
Having created concepts for the weddings which I dream of shooting and the weddings I’d love to attend – and even for our own wedding – I’ve featured on BLOVED, French Wedding Style, and Aisle Society and it’s also why I dabbled in the European Wedding Guide before becoming the Editor or BLOVED. However, what I craved was to be able to create these concepts, like for real!
And, of course, CAPTURE them too!
So through my work in editorial shoots and creating moodboards – and working with amazing brands like Temperly London (swoon!), beautiful wedding dress brand Watters, the exclusive Prezola, Britten Weddings, Agape Bridal Boutique and Charlotte Mills – I have nurtured where my heart was taking me and that was into styling! Styling is something I have done myself for a couple of years but always lacked the confidence in putting it out there.
I don’t want to be a wedding stylist or planner for couples – but I do want to explore creating amazing shoots and inspiring couples with them! So whilst James wants to simply shoot the pretty, I’m interested in creating the pretty to shoot as well. This desire was borne out of a passion for not wanting my own wedding to be the same old, traditional, wedding combined with my creative background in branding and art direction.
Another wonderful thing about this new interest is that my dear friend Natasha Craven will be joining me in the adventure!
She’s a fellow photographer with a stylish eye and similar tastes to my own. We want to work and play together to grow our signature styles and shoot the things which we yearn to shoot – which, if we worked individually it would usually mean spending days at a time away from home to travel to London but together we can team up and create our own concepts and shoots more locally.
But what’s it for and where is it going?
It’s for our own creativity and allows us to produce amazing imagery or exactly what we want to be shooting! It’s about unleashing our creativity and absolutely having fun too! We have our first shoot in February and I can’t wait to tell you more and show you what we’re up to!
And for those who are thinking, why am I working with another Photographer, why not do it all myself? – I firmly believe in collaboration – over competition – and lifting each other up. There is so much stress and comparison, and so many dreams squished in the industry but I hope Natasha and I are able to show people that there’s another way. Both of us are super busy and, individually, without being a team, could we really spend enough time on this to make our vision come to life? Together we can – and together is fun!
So, there’s an exciting update and a bit more about the skill set I bring to Photography and your wedding too! Because being a great Photographer is one thing, but seeing a scene, or you in it’s most beautiful flattering perspective and capturing THAT – is more. The time we take to display things on the day from bouquets to shoes and perfumes, that is more than just our Photographic eye, it’s also the styling behind – and you get this when you hire us, we go that extra mile to capture the most beautiful, dreamy wedding day and our couples always really appreciate this too!
